Reversing Brain Drain in Mississippi

Great City believes improving quality of life is key to reversing the trend of brain drain and improvement of the capital city’s planning, infrastructure, public safety, and economic development opportunities can catalyze change that impacts the next generation.

Since 2010, Mississippi has lost almost 100,000 people to outward migration and the state has been decreasing in population since 2015. The Great City Mississippi Foundation aims to elevate and promote projects that are changing the fabric of Jackson and have the power to transform the city in a real and tangible way.
