New LeFleur’s Bluff Conservancy Advances Major Investment in State Park

The LeFleur’s Bluff Conservancy has been formally established as a public-private partnership to guide the revitalization and stewardship of LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. Supported by a $13 million legislative appropriation, the Conservancy will oversee infrastructure improvements, expanded recreational amenities, accessibility enhancements, and future public access improvements across more than 100 acres within the park.

Led in partnership with Great City Mississippi Foundation, the Mississippi Children’s Museum, state agencies, and community partners, the Conservancy builds on ongoing investment throughout the LeFleur Museum District and surrounding park system. Planned improvements include expanded trail systems, upgraded recreational facilities, family-friendly gathering spaces, and improved access to the Pearl River, reinforcing the park’s role as a major public space and recreational destination for the capital city.

The Conservancy also represents a broader commitment to stewardship, conservation, and quality of life within Jackson. Great City Mississippi Foundation continues to support the planning and advancement of parks, trails, and public spaces that improve connectivity, expand access to the outdoors, and strengthen the capital city for future generations.
